Bio:
Julie is half Irish, half Cajun, has dozens of close relatives, grew up partly in southern Louisiana hearing her grandparents speak French, and has lived longer in Paris than anywhere else. She has moved once for every year of her life and is pretty tired of that.
Julie studied Chinese at Yale, reads classical Chinese every day, and is writing a YA book about a boy in ancient China at the time of the first Qin emperor. She used to be a writer for the Cousteau Society and the Foreign Policy Association and her few publications have been for those organizations. She has four mostly grown children and is in the second year of an M.A. in translation (French and German to English) at the Sorbonne Nouvelle.
She has had a blog since 2004, wishes she could draw better, and wonders if it is okay to write about yourself in the third person.
