Bio:
Annie Donwerth Chikamatsu is currently revising a middle grade verse novel set in Japan 2001. Her work has been published in Hunger Mountain, Y.A.R.N., Highlights, Highlights High Five, Wee Ones, Stories for Children and Skipping Stones. Her poetry will be included in anthologies by Blooming Tree Press and Patch for Peace.
She is a member of the SCBWI Tokyo chapter and has written for and edited parts of its newsletter, CARP TALES.
She was awarded a grant from the Highlights Foundation to attend the Writers Workshop at Chautauqua 2009.
She attended Highlights Foundation's "Introduction to the Verse Novel" with Virginia Euwer Wolff, Sonya Sones and Linda Oatman High in October 2012.

She taught intensive English for Academic Purposes at universities in the United States, Malaysia and Japan. She earned a Bachelors in English from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Applied Linguistics from University of North Texas at Denton.
