Bio:

I was born in Beijing, China, but my family moved to the U.S. when I was eight.
I went to school in Cambridge, MA, and attended college in Berkeley, CA, majoring in mathematics. After graduating, I taught college mathematics for a few years.
After getting married and having children, I turned to freelance writing.
My earliest book was about a Chinese girl studying mathematics, but I soon became more interested in writing mystery/adventure stories. My first published book featured two samurai solving a murder mystery in 16th century Japan.
Later I wrote YA novels about Chinese/American teenagers.
Currently, I'm writing an adult book, a biography of a Chinese mathematician.
