Bio:

Almost as soon as I could sit upright I joined my sisters at a table where we each had our own stack of paper and crayons and where we could draw to our hearts' content. I won my first art contest at age six and my first writing award not long after.

I studied illustration at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and children's book illustration with Uri Shulevitz in New York. I've worked in advertising and design and won awards for my paintings. Along the way I taught drawing and painting to children.

I am a long-time member of SCBWI. My book -- Signed, Abiah Rose -- was published by Tricycle Press/Random House in 2010 and was named to two Top Ten lists by Booklist.
