Background includes: social services (managed a variety of programs as Director of Social Services for The Salvation Army in Colo. Springs, CO); substitute teacher and/or aide/tutor in Pahrump, NV & Las Vegas, NV; have attended a variety of training courses for above positions; member SCBWI National & Missouri/Colorado/Nevada chapters (1984-present) with SCBWI conferences to be attended 9-10-11, attended 6-4-11 and summer 1984; volunteered for and led many programs within The Salvation Army Church; mentor; public speaking (on writing, emergency management, for Churches including occasional sermons); judge for children's annual poster contests and Civic Oration contests; obtained trademark and successfully marketed fur pictures created from scraps; always very involved with children and their needs (received Honorary Life Membership from the Missouri Congress of Parents & Teachers for "Service to Youth). Have published articles, prose, poems for children and adults for many years.
