Cassandra Andre

Bio:

Having been a neglected child at home and at school, I found my safe place in the library where I read every book. I learned that I could make a life different from what I lived and that there was real magic - I only had to believe.

Always, I've drawn pictures but never dreamed I could write. My ex-husband was an excellent writer who fascinated me with his skills but he never did anything serious - a true waste.

A few years ago I went back to school to finally get my degree and, in writing all my research papers, discovered, I had writing skills. I was thrilled.

For some reason I never considered all the company newsletters, the school curricula, the teachers' training kits I wrote and all the childrens books I wrote & illustrated for the schools where I worked, as writing. My kids laughed at me for paying big bucks just to get the university professors to convince me I could do what I'd been doing.

So, I have moved to Washington and am intending to realize my dream of again having a studio only this time without a husband jealous of time spent in it.

Currently, I have several books at varying stages of completion. One is mostly complete. Its protagonist is one of my handmade dolls.

A prolific Australian novelist uses my editing exclusively.

Trying something new and exciting, I'm half way through a screenplay.

My artwork has been limited the last decade as I've had no place to work so I'm anxious to get my studio set up and start exploring again.

My published work, so far, isn't in the childrens market.

My website needs, desperately, to be re-done. When I update it, I'll share it with you.
