Danette Haworth

Bio:

Danette Haworth created her first book when she was six, featuring hair-raising pictures of the battle between a green stickboy and a red stickman. She has since stopped illustrating—at least until the market is ready for some really good stickmen. Her middle grade books include VIOLET RAINES ALMOST GOT STRUCK BY LIGHTNING, THE SUMMER OF MOONLIGHT SECRETS, ME & JACK, and A WHOLE LOT OF LUCKY.

Listed as required reading across the country, Danette's books have received favorable reviews from Kirkus, School Library Journal, BCCB, and more. Additionally, VIOLET RAINES won the 2012 California Young Reader Medal, and ME & JACK is a nominee for New Hampshire's Great Stone Face Award.

Her name looks easy but fools a lot of people. Here's how you pronounce it: d'NET HAYworth.
