Will Hubbell served in the army and worked in public television, academia, and advertising before becoming a full-time author. He writes and illustrates children’s picture books under his own name and uses the pen name Morgan Howell for his novels, which attract a young adult audience.

As a novelist, he is drawn to fantasy by his interest in creating new worlds and his belief that the supernatural evokes primal responses in readers. Fate, destiny, the soul, the afterlife, and religion are all matters that fall outside the sphere of science, yet are core to the human experience. He has written two fantasy trilogies, Queen of the Orcs and The Shadowed Path. They are published by Del Rey Books.
