Bio:

I was born in the pine forest region of western Arkansas and grew up on the Arizona desert. Since childhood, I loved to read and did a bit of scribbling just for myself, never showing it to anyone.

A writing-for-children class changed all that, and the ensuing submissions and many, many rejections served to toughen my resolve to break into print. My first book was A GIFT FOR TIA ROSA, a story-picture book that is still re-run as a review book on the PBS show,"Reading Rainbow." It was followed by MARSHMALLOW MUSCLES, BANANA BRAINSTORMS, NAME THAT BOOK! and HOTDOG ON TV.
