Bio:

I have published novelty books, early readers, picture books, middle-grade, nonfiction, magazine articles and curriculum texts as both writer and illustrator. My newest nonfiction books are AMAZING ANIMAL SKILLS with Cavendish/Benchmark. One of them, Leaps and Creeps, was a finalist for the Animal Behavior Society's Children's Book Award for 2012. I also have twelve new early reader titles (2011 and 2012) from Rourke Publishing.

When not working on contracted projects, marketing, or hustling for work, I am re-designing and bringing out previously published books in POD and book-app format. My newest ebook titles are the early reader series called Chicago and the Cat.

I illustrated my first picture book the same year I joined the SCBWI - 1986 - and began volunteering for the Oregon region shortly thereafter. I am now Oregon's Regional Advisor Emeritus, having served as Regional Advisor from 1994 to 2012.

I share my life with a very patient husband, one dog, and a variety of wild critters that inhabit our Funny Farm in western Oregon.
