Inspired by Dr. Seuss's Thing 1 and Thing 2, my life has always been full of fun. I grew up in Seattle in the 50's with five siblings, working puzzles, making paper dolls, coloring in coloring books and being read to. I fell in love with books and their magic and by the 6th grade, I'd chosen my career.
In the 80's I studied everything about it at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. I've now illustrated 24 picture books. I'm at work on #25 in my Bainbridge Island home studio where I also write, sew, paint and keep a hammock under the cedar trees with an ear out for Barred Owls.
Ask about my school visits: "A Day With Pierr Morgan" and group workshops: "Making Children's Picture Books" (the dummy); "Bookin' It With Pierr" (making a book and collaging) and "Ink Resist" (a technique used to illustrate 14 of my titles).
