Denise Vega

Bio:

Denise Vega writes for children through teens. Her first published novel, CLICK HERE (To Find Out How I Survived Seventh Grade), was a bestselling title for the Scholastic Book Fairs/Clubs, won the Colorado Book Award for Young Adult Literature, and was a 2008 Louisiana Reader’s Choice Nominee. The follow up to Click Here - ACCESS DENIED (and other eighth grade error messages) - was published in July 2009 and was a finalist for the Colorado Top Hand Award. FACT OF LIFE #31 won the the Colorado Book Award and the Colorado Top Hand Award for Young Adult Lit.

She also has published BUILD A BURRITO (a toddler counting book), and GRANDMOTHER, HAVE THE ANGELS COME? (a picture book), which was an Américas Award Commended Title, winner of the 2009 Living In Color Literary Award for best Children’s picture book, as well as a Colorado Book Award winner for Children’s Literature and winner of the Colorado Top Hand Award for Children’s Book-length Fiction.

She has another teen novel - ROCK ON - due out March 2012.

. Denise is a Co-Regional Advisor of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of SCBWI and lives in Denver with her family.
