Bio:
I'd loved picture books for a long time, but reading to my two children helped to fine-tune my sense of story. We were on a dull car trip when they were young, and I made up some animal rhymes, which turned into Sheep in a Jeep. Sheep on a Ship, Sheep in a Shop, Sheep Out to Eat, Sheep Take a Hike, Sheep Trick or Treat, and Sheep Blast Off! have followed.
When raccoons made a mess of our garbage cans, I was exasperated, but I turned them into a story, Raccoon Tune. I'm very honored that it was chosen as the 2008 Michigan Reads! picture book by the Library of Michigan.
My newest book, Elena's Story, was inspired by a trip we made to Guatemala to visit our daughter in the Peace Corps.
