Deborah Davis is the author of The Secret of the Seal, My Brother Has AIDS, and Not Like You and edited the nonfiction teen mother anthology, You Look Too Young to be a Mom. She has 20 years' experience speaking at schools and conferences, teaching writing workshops, and critiquing manuscripts. Her book honors and awards include The International Reading Association’s Teachers’ Choice, The Bank Street College List of Recommended Books, the Children’s Book Council’s Notable Children’ Trade Books in the Field of Social Studies, The New York Public Library’s Books for the Teen Age, the Society of School Librarians International Book Award, an NCIBA Book of the Year finalist, starred reviews in School Library Journal and Publisher's Weekly, and inclusion on numerous state reading lists.
