Barbara Bannister

Bio:

I taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade and then was an elementary school librarian teaching library skills, literature, etc. to K - 6 students. My first published materials were "Crossword Count" and "the Student Detective" published by Quailridge Media. These were activity workbooks for library skills. I then published five books with the education division of Prentice Hall (which later became The Center for Applied Research in Education). These were "Library Media Activities for Every Month of the School Year", "Reading Bingos," "Reading Roundup", "Thematic Activities for Grades 4 - 8", "The New Elementary School Library Almanac", and " Elementary School Librarian's Survival Guide". I next self-published a travel book with Jan Carlile - "ExplOregon with Kids".
Kaeden Books published my picture book (illustrated by Kathy Baron) "Possum's Three Fine Friends." "The Christmas Train" (grades 3 - 6) was published by Cornerstone Press.
I am now writing a science fiction book for grades 4 - 6 and a historical novel for that age.
I have four children and 9 grandchildren. I volunteer at an elementary school library as well as singing in the choir and volunteering at our church.
