Harold at the Winter Conference 2013
One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to pay his chocolate milk tab at the Children’s Literature Bar at the Winter Conference. So, taking his purple crayon, he kept his wits and drew a mural card. It read: “Thank You, SCBWI.” He made a kite with a golden string for Lin and Steve to hold. Jane and Tomie grabbed on to help keep the kite grounded. Some of the other writers and illustrators didn’t seem to be getting anywhere, so Harold let them borrow his purple crayon to draw editors, art directors, and agents. And Harold dropped off to sleep.
