My picture book ¿LEES UN LIBRO CONMIGO (Panamericana) was selected by IBBY for Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities 2007 and my picture book NO HAY NADA COMO EL ORIGINAL (Destino) was selected by the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany for the White Ravens 2005.

My picture book ¡VAMOS A VER A PAPÁ! with illustrations by Alba Marina Rivera, is published by Ekaré in Spanish (2010) and in English translation by Elisa Amado from Groundwood Books (November 2011). It tells the other side of the immigration experience: not going to a new country, but the people who are left behind.

My bilingual picture book JUST LIKE THEM/IGUAL QUE ELLOS, illustrated by Doug Cushman, has been published in Spanish-English, Basque-English, Catalan-English, Galician-English, and Slovenian-English editions and is forthcoming in German-English, German-Spanish, German-Italian, German-French, German-Greek, German-Italian, German-Turkish, and German-Russian.
