Suzanne Morgan Williams

Bio:

Suzanne Morgan Williams is the author of the novel, Bull Rider (Margaret K. McElderry Books, 2009) and 11 nonfiction children's books. Bull Rider is a Junior Library Guild selection for 2009, was selected for the Texas Library Association's Lone Star (middle school) AND Tayshas (high school) reading lists for 2010 and won a Western Heritage Award for Outstanding Juvenile Book of 2009 from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. It is on the Bank Street College Best Books of 2010 list and is a Finalist for the Nevada Young Readers Award 2011, the Indiana Young Hoosier Award 2011/12, and Missouri's Truman Award 2011/12. Her latest book, China's Daughters; Women Who Shaped Chinese History was published late in 2011.

From the time she wrote her first book, Made in China, Ideas and Inventions from Ancient China, (Pacific View Press, 1997)to the present, her work has taken her into classrooms to connect with students, to universities and museums to work with experts, and to communities to share experiences.

Suzanne gives frequent school visits, workshops and presentations for writers, librarians, and teachers, and is Regional Advisor Emerita of Nevada Region of SCBWI. Visit her website at www.suzannemorganwilliams.com
