Bio:
Susan Eaddy is the Illustrator Coordinator for the Midsouth region.
All of her artwork is 3D clay relief illustration, which she then photographs in her attic studio.
“One of the reasons I enjoy clay so much is that I don’t really know how to do it! I am forever trying to figure out how to construct my reliefs and incorporate some new texture or technique that I have run across, while getting my characters’ personality just right. Each illustration is a discovery process. This keeps it fresh for me, and I hope that translates into a fresh experience for my audience as well.”
Susan was an Art Director for fifteen years, during which time she won international 3D illustration awards and a Grammy nomination. She has illustrated over 80 books and covers in the children’s educational market. Her trade book & magazine credits include illustrations for LadyBug, Baby Bug & Spider Magazines, Papa Fish’s Lullaby by Patricia Hubbell, (NorthWords Books for Young Readers) and 3 new First Looks board books published by the Smithsonian Institution with Soundprints. She lives in Nashville TN, with her art professor husband and one fat cat. Mr. Big Fluffy BoyKitty spends his days in the studio and politely regards her strict instructions not to jump on the worktable. Cat hair and clay don’t mix!
