Safety fears from a television show prompted Chérie to bury all of her mother's plastic storage containers in the backyard until the bomb disposal squad could arrive. As a result, Chérie experienced her first byline in the second grade penning a report on the REAL composition of plastic explosives. Still on a quest to learn "absolutely everything," Chérie writes in a variety of genres; however, the muse usually strikes when only a crayon or used envelope is nearby. Her essays, nonfiction, poetry, recipes, and folktales appear in online and print publications. Always with many projects on the go (including future picture books and her upcoming desire to learn to FLY....), Chérie lives, travels, dreams of steam engines and writes from Fairbanks, Alaska. She is a "wild mannered" Kindergarten teacher on a local Army post (HOOAH!) by day and is an apprentice steam train engineer during her summer "hols". Chérie and husband Scott love to travel throughout Alaska and at anything DISNEY related. They make their home in a teeny tiny house with two persnickety black cats, one diva chihuahua and a very large, friendly and quite slobbery Old English Sheepdog. Look for them in the audience sometime... Oh, and if you see Chérie wearing Post-It notes, DO please take them off for her. Thank you Most Kindly!
