Shellie

Bio:

As a children's counselor, and then a nanny, I have always used stories to help children connect to their feeling and the world around them. In 2005, I decided to get serious about learning the craft of writing for children. I joined SCBWI, and attended several different writing conferences. In 2007, I entered and won the first Cheerios Spoonfuls of Stories New Writers Contest with my story "The Great Dog Wash." First prize was inclusion of my story on 1.5 million Cheerios boxes, as well as a chance to get my book published by Simon and Schuster. In early 2008, I sold my story to Simon and Schuster.
The books have started appearing in grocery stores all over the country.
Since its release in July, the hardback has already gone into a second printing.
This has been an exciting and rewarding process.
