Bio:
As a kid I always loved drawing, The Muppets, Disney movies, and dreamed of illustrating children's books.
I graduated with a BFA in drawing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. I taught art to elementary children for five years; then moved to California where I began working as a storyboard artist.
I have worked on a variety of productions, winning an Annie Award for storyboarding in 2004. I have also served as an animation development artist, children's book illustrator, and character designer for companies such as Disney, Nickelodeon, Sony, Klasky-Csupo, White Wolf, etc. Currently I am a storyboard artist on Disney's hit TV show “Phineas and Ferb”.
In addition to my professional work as an animation storyboard artist, I still dream of being a children’s storybook author and illustrator.
In May 2012, I completed my Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration at California State University of Fullerton. I have created an animated short film, “The Littlest Valkyrie”, which I have also adapted into a storybook. I also enjoy creating illustrative sculptures. I created a variety of maquettes, including the main character from my film, one of my Fuzzlelump monsters, and a giant from Jack and the Beanstalk. When I draw, paint, or sculpt I want my illustrations to tell a story and involve the viewer emotionally.
I have also designed and had manufactured my own line of plush toys called Fuzzlelumps! Fuzzlelumps are cute little monsters that live in various nooks and crannies, in dark closets, and under beds. My husband and I have written a story about the Fuzzlelumps which we hope to see published. I have a few other stories I have written and started illustrating and there are always more working their way out.
When I’m not drawing, I love to read books, play games and spend time with my family.
