Myrna Goldstein

Bio:

I have just finished writing "For Love of Monday," a children's story and have more in the works. With this enrollment in SCBWI, I am kicking off my third career: writing all the plays, short stories, poetry, and children's stories I have been threatening to write since I began writing professionally over 40 years ago. Previously, I worked 15 years as a journalist for Fairchild Publications, NYC & Gannett Co., Rochester, NY and Westchester County, NY. In 1980, I was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in Investigative Reporting. Before that, I won three Gannett Mighty Pen Awards and, while at Northwestern U., Medill School of Journalism, I was named an MPA Intern and won a Reader's Digest Award for college magazine article writing. I have been living in Italy for 25 years, mostly in Perugia in Central Italy. I moved to Milan in 2007. In Italy, I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language for 15 years and researching second language learning/acquisition. In 2002, I received an ESL/EFL Master Degree. I am a member of the Linguistic Society of America, the American Association for Applied Linguistics, and TESOL. Outside interests: just about everything including astronomy, genetics, the arts, sports. Thanks for reading!
