Bio:

I live in Springdale, Arkansas with my wife and two girls. My passion for reading and writing began at an early age. It wasn't until 2005 when I decided to write my first novel. Of course, it was challenging in many ways. I had to learn the market, the types of genres and age groups, marketing strategies, the various literary agencies, the proper formatting for a manuscript, how to write a query letter, a proposal, and a synopsis. There was much to know and understand in the publishing industry to become a successful writer. I finally published a book in 2007 called, "The Legend of Captain Troy." I thought for my first attempt, the novel sounded pretty good. After six years of intense writing exercises, research, education, and reading, I finally learned how to write a well structured story.

I worked two to three jobs supporting my family while my wife attended school. The first few years were very tough. I missed birthday's, holiday's, and other family functions throughout the year. Later, I attended school. My wife graduted last December, and she is now a certified teacher. I am pursuing a BA in Creative Writing and Fiction at the Southern New Hampshire University, expecting to graduate next year.

Apart from writing and school, we enjoy going to baseball games, the movies, playing board games, barbeques, walking the dogs, and spending time together. I also play golf, the piano, cook, and other outdoor activities. Throughout my development of research and writing, I now have three picture book manuscripts, and four middle grade novels in outline form.

Life hasn't been easy, but manageable. We have posted notes around the house that says, "I can and I will." When I feel down, the posted notes remind me not to give up.
