I was born in Medemblik, The Netherlands as third of four children to a Dutch mother and a Spanish father. At the age of three our family moved to my father's region in Spain, Murcia.
As a child I loved drawing and art and that love has never faded away. I dreamt one time to be a children’s books illustrator. I remember how much I enjoyed drawing for a children’s drawings contest.
When after high school the time came to pick a university and a course I had a hard time deciding whether to do Medicine or Art. I ended up studying Medicine at the University of Valencia and graduated after seven years. I decided to move to The Netherlands and start learning my mother's mother tongue. I studied Dutch for a year and lived in Maastricht. After one year, I enrolled for a Master in Health Care Management at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), Belgium. So, I changed countries again. Luckily, in Leuven, people also speak Dutch so I could continue to get fluent in that language. After my Master, I found a job at the Ministry of Health in Brussels and worked there for about five years. After some time though, I found that I was ignoring my artistic vibe and decided to 'turn my life around'. In September 2009 I enrolled for an animation movie course for 2 years. And the end of the course I finished my first movie.
In December 2010, I took the first step to make my childhood dream true. I enrolled for a course in “Children's Books Illustrations” at London Art College. I graduated with merit in February 2012. While working on the assignments of this course, I also did some leaflets to announce a European chocolate contest, youth movement activities …
Having finished my first course in Children’s Book Illustration, I was hungry for more. I realized that this course would really open doors and I enrolled for a guided Portfolio Course at the London Art College. This means that… I’m drawing my first children’s book. And I feel that the adventure has only begun!
