Bio:

I knew I wanted to be a writer when I was still in elementary school. I started out as a reporter on local newspapers, then went to Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
For a while, I worked as a free lancer writing for national magazines. I didn't start writing for children until I had my own children. I have published two non-fiction books for children, three picture books, and four novels.
I have also co-authored,with my husband, "The Development of Children," a college developmental psychology textbook in its sixth edition.
I am working on a historical novel set during the American Revolution.
I live in Southern California with my husband and my border collie, Mila.
