Bio:
Barbara Joosse has published 44 books in 27 languages. Known for a lyrical style and substantive underlayers, she wants each book to explore the things that are different--and the things that are the same--between us all. She explores a wide variety of subjects, always focusing on imagination, courage and love. Barbara lives in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, in a 150 year-old stone house beside a wide creek, with her scuptor husband, c.t. Whitehouse, and their two floppy dogs. Recently, she has begun to write the lyrics to music--some of which are companion songs for her books. Her music is performed by The Happy Racers, in Nashville. Their first album, "Ready Set Go" was on the first ballot for a Grammy in 2012!
Barbara enjoys visiting schools, sometimes doing combination "artist in residence" programs with an illustrator and band--writing stories, drawing, writing music and performing together!
