When I was 17, I was Mrs. Santa Claus and read Christmas stories on the radio station. Also took photos of children talking to Santa.

Bio:

I've enjoyed a lifetime in the children's market educating and entertaining children as a teacher, mother of four sons, grandmother of five, and published author. I hold a B.E. degree from the Univ. of Washington with a M.E. degree from the Univ. of Puget Sound. I've been a Kindergarten and first grade teacher, Romper Room teacher on WOKR T.V. in Rochester, N.Y., Univ. Instructor of "Storytelling and Puppetry", and "Creative Arts for the Young Child" at UPS. For the past 28 years, I've been a member of the SCBWI traveling to conferences in CA, Denver, AZ, NY, and of course each year to WA. I don't know how I would have ever been able to compete in this difficult book industry without belonging to the SCBWI. I've made wonderful friends across the U.S., learned the nuts and bolts of being a professional, and have had a journey beyond my imagination! My writing career has evolved into a book designer holding a U.S. patent on a folding apparatus, and also a toy designer. In summary, I'm a lover of children and a "Right brain creative." Children and books are my passion and purpose. It's what I was born to be.
