Bio:

Peggy Archer was born in Gary, Indiana. She writes fiction, non-fiction, and poetry for children. Her picture books include
NAME THAT DOG!, Dial Books for Young Readers 2010, FROM DAWN TO DREAMS: Poems for Busy Babies, Candlewick Press 2007, TURKEY SURPRISE (a New York Times Bestseller), Dial Books for Young Readers 2005, and ONE OF THE FAMILY, a Little Golden Book published by Western Publishing Company 1984.

Her work has also appeared in several magazines for children including Babybug, Ladybug, Highlights for Children, Humpty Dumpty, Turtle, and Children’s Playmate.

Peggy enjoys speaking to children and adults at schools and libraries about her books and writing.

Besides writing for children, Peggy has worked as a hospital pediatric nurse and as a school nurse. She and her husband have six children and eight grandchildren. A native Hoosier from Indiana, she now lives with her husband in O'Fallon, Missouri.
