Anne Chancey Dalton

Bio:

Anne Chancey Dalton began writing her first book when she was 12, and finished it 50 years later. That’s why she often tells audiences, “Look beyond what you see to what can be.”
A classroom teacher for 26 years, Anne is now a teaching artist. During school residencies, she teaches creative writing and drama. When doing author visits, she usually portrays a character from one of her two historical fiction books in a dramatic monologue.
Anne’s first published work was an award-winning article for The Saturday Evening Post Teacher Contest in 1978. Then she wrote church school curriculum for over a decade for Abingdon Press, David C. Cook and Bible Quest. She has written two historical fiction novels: Massacre Island, which was a 2004/2005 AL Emphasis on Reading book and Dream Ghost. A biography, Jeremiah A. Denton, Jr.: Vietnam War Hero came out in 2012 and won the Branson Stars and Flags book award during the 2012 Veterans Week celebration in Branson, MO. www.annecdalton.com
