Bio:
My career, education, and knowledge are fueled and enriched by a love of the arts, especially a love of words and pictures together in books. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music, Cum Laude from Kent State University and have attended Columbus College of Art and Design, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Philadelphia College of the Arts. I have a Masters Degree in Library Services to Children and Young Adults from Drexel University, Philadelphia. I create picture books, exhibit work in juried shows, and make journals by hand. I have had three solo art exhibitions. I have had the honor of serving on the American Library Association's Caldecott Committee. An avid journal keeper, I teach and write about the practice of visual journaling. I create for fun, to explore spiritual truths, and to celebrate and honor the natural world. My style celebrates the work of Trina Schart Human, Jane Ray, Angela Barrett, Henri Matisse, Edward Burne-Jones, and Sara Fanelli.
