Bio:
Benjamin Scott is the Assistant Regional Advisor of the British Isles. From 2007 to 2010, he was also Central East Network Coordinator for SCBWI-BI.
He has written five books for the Star Fighters fiction series under the name Max Chase. It's an exciting space-based adventure series full of aliens, explosions and space-sharks.
He reviews regularly for the children's book magazine Carousel and has recently adjudicated a writing-for-children competition. Whenever he gets the chance, he also facilitates a variety of writing related workshops, including for the Writers’ Summer School at Swanwick, Derbyshire. He also tutors an online course, Writing for Young Adults, for the University of Oxford Continuing Education Department.
His YA novel, The Summoning of Freiya Rolandson (aka The Nightwalker’s Curse), earned an honorary mention in SCBWI’s Undiscovered Voices competition 2010. He regularly critiques with SCBWI members in Norwich.
After graduating in History at the University of East Anglia in 1999, Benjamin Scott worked in advertising as an account manager and then as a copywriter. He is co-author of Turn Your Degree into a Career (How to Books) and editor of a short story anthology Undercurrents (Gatehouse Press).
