Bio:

Phyllis Limbacher Tildes is an award-winning author and illustrator. She has been drawing pictures for her stories since she was a child in Stratford, CT. She has a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design as an illustration major and was awarded European Honors to study in Rome Italy. After twenty years as a graphic designer, her first picture book, COUNTING ON CALICO, was published. She has just completed her eighteenth book for Charlesbridge. Some other titles include: BABY ANIMALS BLACK AND WHITE, THE MAGIC BABUSHKA, EYE GUESS, BILLY'S BIG BOY BED, PUMPKINS, and THE GARDEN WALL.
She has won many awards including, Pick of the lists, CBC Children's Choice, and Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award.
With her picture books she hopes to instill a sense of wonder.
She lives with her husband in Savannah, GA.
