Jo S. Kittinger has authored 22 books for children, fiction and nonfiction,including her most recent-- THE HOUSE ON DIRTY-THIRD STREET (Peachtree Publishers) and ROSA'S BUS: THE RIDE TO CIVIL RIGHTS (Calkins Creek/Boyds Mills Press). ROSA'S BUS received an SCBWI Crystal Kite Award in 2011. Look for A BREATH OF HOPE in 2012 from the American Bar Association Publishers. JANE GOODALL and GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER, Scholastic News Nonfiction Readers are among other recent titles. In addition, she has published numerous items in various books, magazines, and newspapers. Jo gained an editorial perspective when she worked at The Flicker children’s magazine.
