2013 Winter Conference
THE 14TH ANNUAL WINTER CONFERENCE IS NOW OVER. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING IT A BIG SUCCESS AND WATCH THE WEBSITE FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS ON THE 42ND SUMMER CONFERENCE WHICH WILL BE HELD AUGUST 2-5,2013 AT THE HYATT CENTURY PLAZA IN LOS ANGELES
This year's conference will feature two jam-packed days of inspiration and the latest on what's happening in the field of children's literature from top editors, agents, art directors, authors and illustrators. Saturday night will feature a networking party to meet your colleagues. There will be an additional optional intensive day on Friday for those who want to dive deep into their craft. Early registration opens October 19th at 10 am PDT. This conference will sell out so don't delay!

There will be a Booksellers Panel with independent booksellers, Barnes and Noble and Amazon on “What's Selling Now.” There were also be smaller breakout sessions called "What Hooks Me" featuring 11 acquiring editors and art directors from publishing houses such as HarperCollins, Scholastic, Penguin, Candlewick, Little Brown, and Simon and Schuster.

Writer's Roundtable: A small-group critique of your work by an acquiring editor or agent plus 2 panels.Illustrator's Intensive: Lessons Learned: A Candid Conversations about Arriving, Surviving and Thriving as a Picture Book Illustrator ,featuring acclaimed illustrators including, but not limited to, Floyd Cooper, Barbara McClintock, David Ezra Stein and Shaun Tan. Elements of the Novel: A 50-person workshop to examine elements of novel writing with Margaret Peterson Haddix, Jane Yolen, Matthew Kirby, Linda Sue Park, Meg Rosoff and editors Krista Marino and Ari Lewin.
