Submit International School Visit Information

School Questionnaire for Author/Illustrator Visits to International Schools

Dear Librarians and Educators,

Please note that the deadline for schools to submit school data for the 2012 SCBWI International School Directory for the SCBWI Guide to International School Visits is June 30, 2012. The SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators) International School Directory puts SCBWI authors and illustrators who are interested in doing school visits in direct contact with international schools around the world.

We are now updating the International School Directory for 2012. Authors and illustrators using this Directory are SCBWI members and include many world-famous names. Please note: For those of you who are SCBWI members, the Directory and Guide is available on-line at www.scbwi.org in the  Resource Library within the SCBWI Publication Guide. If you are not an SCBWI member and need a copy of your school's earlier listing, please contact me.

To be included in the 2012 SCBWI Directory of International Schools, please go to www.scbwi.org and under Find a Speaker, click on About School Visits, then click on "Submit International School Visit Information" (or go to this shortened link http://bit.ly/a6Lbor). Please fill out the online form and submit your school's information by June 30, 2012.

The SCBWI acts as a network for the exchange of knowledge between writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people. It serves as a consolidated voice for professional writers and illustrators the world over. As a unified body, the SCBWI acts as a powerful force to effect important changes within the field of children's literature, promoting new copyright legislation, equitable treatment of authors and artists, and fair contract terms. There are currently more than 22,000 members worldwide, in over 70 regional chapters writing and illustrating in all genres for young readers from board books to young adult (YA) novels, making it the largest children's writing organization in the world.

Thank you for your time and enthusiasm. The SCBWI hopes that the International School Directory and Guide to International School Visits ultimately benefit schools, authors, illustrators, and children worldwide. Please contact me with any questions.

Thank you!
