Eye Level Children's Literature Award is accepting applications - Friday, September 14, 2012

The Daekyo Culture Foundation and World Youth Culture Foundation of Korea is looking for applicatnts for it's 20th  “Eye Level Children’s Literature Award” Contest

 

The submission deadline is September 30.  Guidelines

 

In particular, this year’s 20th contest offers a global award, and it is simultaneously held in 7 countries including the USA, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

 

The “Eye Level Children’s Literature Award” is divided into the domestic Children’s Literature Award, Children’s Creative Verse Award, and Global Award. The Children’s Literature Award is for novel and established writers and is divided into 3 categories: short and long stories, verses, and illustrated storybooks. The winner of the Children’s Literature Award gets a total of $4000 USD cash prize and an opportunity to attend the Bologna International Children’s Book Fair.

 

In addition, this year’s newly organized Global Award seeks short stories and illustrated storybooks by new and established children’s literature writers in the USA, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Works submitted in English, Chinese, Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), and Filipino (Tagalog) will be accepted and can be sent to Daekyo’s local office in each country. The first prize winners of the Global Award will each receive a total of USD 20,000 and tickets for touring Korea. Additional awards of USD 46,000 and souvenirs will be given for each country.

 

The winners of the Global Award will be announced on November 5, and those of domestic awards, on November 19. More details regarding the submission of literary works can be found at the website for the 20th Eye Level Children’s Literature Award Contest:
