Join us at the Edith Abbott Memorial Library Meeting Room in Grand Island on Aug. 6, 2012 from 5:30-7:15 to connect with local writers and illustrators!
These informal gatherings will be a chance to learn more about SCWI and their (evolving!) policies, opportunities for networking via the SCBWI website, and, most importantly, to meet fellow writers and illustrators in your area and discuss the issues you face as writers and illustrators--published, hopeful, or otherwise. I'm also planning to use these meetings to find out more from all of you about what you want in future workshops and conferences, so this is a great chance to speak up and let us know how SCBWI can work for you!
These Meet & Greets will be FREE OF CHARGE and open to EVERYONE. Please spread the word so that we can add to our membership and the potential connections each one of you can make. Don't worry if you can't be there right at the beginning; feel free to trickle in when you're available. I'll have handouts and, in locations where an internet connection is available, a demonstration of the SCBWI website.
