On January 15, 2012 from 3-5 p.m., Claudia Mills has graciously offered to present a program on how to be a successful writer in an hour! The event will be hosted by Stephanie Curtis, Alyssa Wei and Kevin Spear, and will be held at Stephanie's house (same location as the last event) 10777 Crooked Stick Lane, Carmel, IN 46032. How to Be a Successful Writer in an Hour a Day
In this session focusing on time-management techniques for writers, Claudia Mills will share the secrets that allowed her to write over forty books while having a full-time job and raising a family. The "queen of shortcuts," Claudia will provide proven and inspirational techniques for creating a balanced and productive writing life.
About Claudia Mills
Claudia Mills is the author of over 45 books for young readers, including picture books (Ziggy's Blue-Ribbon Day), easy readers (the ten books of the Gus and Grandpa series), chapter books (7 x 9 = Trouble!, Being Teddy Roosevelt, How Oliver Olson Changed the World), and middle-grade novels (The Totally Made-Up Civil War Diary of Amanda MacLeish, One Square Inch). Recently, How Oliver Olson Changed the World was named an ALA Notable Book of the Year, as well as a Blue Ribbon book by the Bulletin from the Center for Children's Books and finalist for a Cybil Award. Claudia, who holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University, also has a full-time position as a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has written all her books between 5 and 7 in the morning.
