SCBWI Arkansas Spring 2010 Conference Success
Our conference this weekend was a spectacular success!
Many thanks to the William F. Laman Public Library for its sponsorship and providing us with a facility that was a compliment to our event. Our 2010 conference had a small increase in registrations, which is wonderful news with the state of the economy in Arkansas. Our speakers (A. LaFaye, Heather Alexander and Elana Roth) offered attendees a wealth of information to percolate. Our volunteers (Cheryl Davis, Katy Duffield, Loriee Evans, Melanie Johnston and Carla McClafferty) pitched in to help me and make Arkansas SCBWI shine.
Both Elana and Heather had the highest praise for our conference, and the quality and enthusiasm of our members. We appreciated having them both and Alexandria as our guests.
I hope you can join us for the next conference in Spring 2011 or at our retreat in Fall 2010 (Sept. 24-26). For those of you who weren’t at the conference - Arkansas SCBWI will not only offer a retreat for writers, but one for illustrators also.
Thanks!
Phyllis, Arkansas RA
