Selling to the library market isn't anything like selling to parents or teachers.  With their diverse clientele librarians have distinct needs and wants unlike any other buyers out there.  Find out what libraries are looking for in new children's books (CORE Curriculum titles, gaps, themes, trends, etc.) and what they definitely need to see less of.

Betsy Bird is the Youth Materials Specialist of New York Public Library.  Her current blog A Fuse #8 Production is hosted by School Library Journal.  She reviews for Kirkus and The New York Times and has written numerous articles for TimeOut Kids New York, The Horn Book, and other publications.  This spring her first picture book title GIANT DANCE PARTY will be out with Harper Collins and in fall 2013 her adult title WILD THINGS: The True and Untold Stories Behind Children's Books will be out with Candlewick
