Erin Casey says, "When you self-publish, you have to make sure that all the things a publisher would normally do get done...and that's a lot. It isn't easy, and it isn't for everyone, but self-publishing can be very rewarding. My goal and my passion is helping people do it right."
Ms. Casey has published and helped others publish nine books in the past two years. She edited about fifteen--one of which, The Compound Effect, was a New York Times bestseller. Another, The 7 Minute Solution, was published by Free Press (A division of Simon & Schuster) and was re-released in paperback in January 2013. Her most recent project was a book for a ghostwriting client. They began with the intention of self-publishing, but his book was picked up by Sound Wisdom and will be released in the fall.
For almost four years now, she has been the books editor for SUCCESS Media. In that role she has selected the personal development and business books to be included in SUCCESS Books Summaries and Reviews.
"We feature seven books a month, so that equates to a ton of reading and wading through books to find the right titles to highlight," Ms. Casey says. "And yes, we've featured self-published books from time to time. You don't have to be with a big house to get noticed."
Ms. Casey also has written and edited numerous interviews and articles in the past ten years as a magazine editor for SUCCESS magazine and its sister publications.
