“Let’s Talk Agents” with author Polly Holyoke
  COST: $10 members, $15 non-members

Agents seem to dominate the publishing world. Do writers and illustrators need one? What can an agent do for your career in today’s rapidly changing children’s publishing world? How do you find a great agent who will do a good job of representing you?

Local author Polly Holyoke will answer all of these questions and share practical tips on how to find the right agent, how to contact that agent and how to convince that agent to sign you. Her insight will be from her own happy and painful agent experiences. Writers and illustrators who already have experience with agents, please join us to share your war stories and tips.

Bring your own agent query letter if you would like to participate in a hands-on query workshop at the end of the program.

Polly is currently under contract with Disney/Hyperion and Puffin Books UK for THE NEPTUNE PROJECT, a futuristic middle grade adventure series about a group of teens struggling to survive in the sea. Formerly a romance novelist, Polly has had three agents in the course of her varied literary career.
