Bettina Restrepo published a picture book. Then she jumped over to YA. In this workshop, Bettina will share her techniques for building a ‘writer’s persona’ prior to book publication and for promoting a picture book. Then she’ll reveal how it all changed for a young adult book. Her humor and audience participation makes this a must-attend workshop for writers and illustrators of all genres and abilities – regardless of publication status.
Bettina Restrepo, our own chapter member, says she makes up lies (stories) and works in her pajamas. She hears voices in her head (sort-of) and occasionally she makes dinner (badly). She is a writer. Visit www.bettinarestrepo.com to learn more and read an excerpt of Bettina’s YA novel, Illegal (HarperCollins) and her picture book, Moose and Magpie.
