Priscilla Burris has illustrated and written dozens of books for children. Her whimsical style and love for her job as an illustrator and author oozes from the pages of her books.
Come and hear Priscilla's views on the publishing industry and what it takes to create a successful picture book. She will also do a session on craft - focusing on both writing and illustrating for illustrators and author/illustrators. You'll leave with a better understanding of how to blend words with illustrations.
9-11:45 a.m. Workshop
12-1 p.m. Lunch (on your own)
1-1:30 p.m. Begin hands-on activity
1:30-3:30 p.m. 8 portfolio critiques (about 12 minutes each)
3:30-4 p.m. Wrap up hands-on activity and workshop
1. A picture book you admire and adore.
3. Pencils, pens, etc. (for illustration activities)
4. ** NEW ** Feel free to bring your portfolio to display whether you plan to do a critique or not.
As an extra treat, Pricilla wil do up to eight illustrator portfolio critiques. Please access, download and complete the form
found on this site to make sure you have a confirmed critique opportunity. The first eight paid registrations will recive a critique.
