LOCATION/TIME: 9 a.m. meeting, 10 a.m. presentation
Sometimes, we strike upon a great idea, we write the story, and we think
we’ve hit a bonanza. But after several years (or many, many, many years)
the story still hasn’t sold, and we can’t figure out why it has turned into
iron pyrite instead of glistening gold.
In this one-hour workshop, we will reexamine old stories that are stale,
stuck, or stalled. Using different writing techniques, we’ll extract the
valuable nuggets from the story and refine the vision. We’ll sift through
unsuccessful story elements, shake things up by writing old stories in new
ways, and hopefully unearth a sparkling treasure.
Please bring your old mired stories, a notebook, a highlighter,
and a pen. (Pickax, shovel, and pan not required.)
