SCBWI Biennial Conference at The Hughenden Sydney, 29th June to 2nd July
This was the most successful Australian and New Zealand SCBWI Conference we have had with 5 of our writers and illustrators being signed by Jill Corcoran from the Herman Agency; 3 illustrators contracted by Scholastic Australia; and many authors and illustrators negotiatinng contracts for books.
Highlights:-
Saturday night ont eh baby grand piano with a mego singalog and dance party.
led by writer Meredith Costain
Most of the major Australian publishers partcipated in panels, critiques and talks.
The Illustrators' Showcase had 33 publishers lookiubng at the illustrators work.
Many of Australia's and New Zealand's much loved authors and illustrators were on panels at the NSW Wrietrs centre
The Masterclasses run by Sarah Davis, Sheryl Clark, Nina Rycroft and Meredith Costain were totally full and wonderful.

2011 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition
Frane (our illustrator coordinator) has passed this note along to our illustrator members:
The SCBWI member deadline for submitting to the 2011 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition is November 26. This is great news for illustrators (the deadline for non-members was October).
You MUST also note that the envelope and the form must be marked SCBWI.

LA 38th Conference
This has been a wonderful conference with four members from Australia attending as well ... lots of great talks, lots of fun, and many wonderful memories.
