Clos de Mondetour Guesthouse (1 hour from Paris in a Beautiful! valley)
Let's escape to a peaceful16th century guesthouse for the weekend. It'll be just us. You, me and a few other SCBWI writers and illustrators who are eager to immerse themselves in their projects.
We'll work all weekend and break to take naps, walk or jog down the grassy paths to the babbling brook, pet the horses, snap photos, maybe even take a beauty break at the nearby hamman and spa or eat high calorie snacks ... whatever it takes to ease our minds and get us to our drawing board and notepads.
There will be no guest speakers but we'll have each other for company and inspiration.
It's a creative retreat and it's our time.
There are tables and desks scattered throughout the house. There is also a grassy area outside. We will meet up for dinner and lunch, for conversation and encouragement.
The rooms are 220 Euros for the entire weekend, and the rate includes breakfast.
There are three sleeping spaces. One is absolutely private. The second can be shared with another member and the third is like a busy hive and can be shared by three people.
Choice 1 -- THE RED ROOM
Best overall room. Large bed with your own private ensuite bathroom.
Choice 2 -- THE GREEN ROOM
Best deal. You might want to call your favorite SCBWI member and try to convince him or her to share or you could take the whole thing for your lovely self. It includes two twin beds with private ensuite bathroom and seperate toilet.
Choice 3- THE FAMILY ROOM aka The Hive
Cheapest and very possibly where everyone will wish they had been lodged. Two twin beds and one large bed (large bed is in a seperate but attached room, the other two people will need to pass through this room to get to theirs.). There is shower and wc. (Hey Math Geniuses, do you realize that means it's only 74 euros per person if we can get three people to reserve this room? That's a nice deal for a whole weekend away don't you think? )
While breakfast is include in the price, the hammam and spa are not. Lunch and dinner are also not included, but we will provide solutions once we know who is coming.
