Today traditional and digital techniques are used interchangeably as part of creating final illustration work. Many of you may already use digital tools in either creating your work, preparing your work for delivery or the internet. In this workshop we’ll look at Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign and each programmes' specific features in digital art and layout design for children’s illustration. Creating your own textures, brushes, developing layers for animation, and painting as well as uses for composition and colour exploration will be covered. Time will be set aside for sharing digital stories and techniques with the group.
Speaker: Anne-Marie Perks teaches digital art, illustration and animation at Buckinghamshire New University. She is also a published illustrator who is working on writing the stories she illustrates and serves as SCBWI's Regional Illustrator Coordinator for the British Isles.
About: The Illustrator Masterclass Series are hands on workshops for illustrators (and sometimes writers), published and unpublished that focus on art technique, professional issues in children's publishing, marketing and presentation skills and inspiration on the 'craft' of visual storytelling. As some of us are writers too, issues on writing and illustrating are addressed too. It's also a great place to meet other illustrators and share news, get support and receive important feedback to help your career. We are continuing what we started last year with four exciting Illustrator Masterclass workshops designed to move our illustration skills to the next level. We are also offering a discount for signing up for all four events.
Prices are: £20 a session for members (SCBWI, SOA and AOI)
£25 for non-members, £15 for students (must send proof of full time enrollment at university).
Discount for signing up for all fours sessions is:
£70 for members (SCBWI, SOA and AOI) and £85 for non-members.
