LOCATION/TIME: Jerusalem International Book Fair/ 4:30 P.M.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 we will meet at the International Book Fair in Biyaney Hauma, Jerusalem. The meeting is open only to SCBWI members.
At 16:30 meet at the fair, near the Kar-Ben publishing booth, no. 326 in the area of Steimatzky.
It is recommended to attend the fair about an hour before the meeting, to take some time to walk around the fair, there are many interesting things to see there.
At the Kar-Ben publishing booth we'll meet Joni Sussman, publisher of Kar-Ben publishing from the U.S., and we will look at their books to get to know the publishing.
At 17:00 we will leave the fair and go to the cafe "Kaffit" in the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens, at no.1 Yehuda Burla st.
On the ride from the fair to the café, we will be happy to get assistance from people coming with their cars, who can take others with them. This is a short drive.
At 17:30 we get to the cafe (sit in a private room) and Joni will begin the individual meetings with some of the people.
(Reminder - you can't apply for a personal meeting, only those who applied in advance could have personal meetings.)
At 18:30 Joni will stop the personal meetings and give a talk to the group.
Joni will talk about Kar-Ben and generally about the market of the American Jewish Children's books, including ??digital books.
At 19:00 - Dinner (each one will order by his choice and pay for his meal).
After dinner, Joni will continue the personal meetings with other people.
Even if you don't have a personal meeting, you are invited to our meeting!
Anyone who comes to the meeting could give Joni some materials (flyer, postcard, a manuscript of a story in English, etc.).
Anyone who set a personal meeting - Please note that the meetings are very short, about 5 minutes. Prepare carefully-
Plan what are the most important things you want to say and show.
Illustrators who want to show portfolio – we recommend you come with a limited portfolio (15-20 illustrations).
It is also important that you bring some give-away to give Joni at the end of the meeting.
